      James A. Eckert, Ph.D.

Dr. Eckert brings together the best of two worlds: practical knowledge derived from his selling experience and conceptual knowledge formed during his time as a selling-focused scholar, researcher and educator.  

Dr. Eckert has successfully sold in numerous environments: large organization / small organization, for-profit / non-profit, direct selling / missionary selling.  This experience allows for insight into a large range of selling circumstances.  Additionally, Dr. Eckert has conducted negotiation and sales training for a diverse group of organizations, further broadening his experience.

In addition to the practical knowledge, Dr. Eckert has a Ph.D. in Marketing and has taught selling at  Michigan State University, Northeastern University and Western Michigan University where he currently teaches within WMU's Sales & Business Marketing Program.  He has conducted and published research on such topics as adaptive selling, conflict in business-to-business relationships, negotiation, supply chain management, and customer service.

Dr. Eckert is a dynamic speaker who can translate knowledge into the practical tactics needed by the selling professional.
